A licence designed to use, adapt and keep
The licence grants the acquiring organisation the right to use the purchased version indefinitely, within the scope defined in its contract. It can access the code, deploy the platform, modify it and work with authorised external professionals.
What it does not allow: reselling, sublicensing, publishing, distributing or commercially exploiting the core or its modified versions as a product for third parties.

For years, the convenience of SaaS has simplified technology adoption. But it has also normalised a dangerous idea: that an organisation can only use a tool while it keeps renting it, that its possibilities end where the allowed configuration ends, and that its evolution depends entirely on the priorities of a single provider.
Artificial intelligence is changing that reality. Today it’s possible to understand, adapt and maintain complex systems in a way that a few years ago was reserved for large engineering teams. But that capability can only be harnessed when the software is well built, when its architecture is clear, when its code is accessible and when its documentation holds the knowledge needed to evolve it.

What we get asked most
Is Alumne Flex open-source software?
No. It is commercial software with source-code access for licensed customers. You may use and modify the platform for your organisation, but you cannot redistribute, resell or sublicense the core.
Does the licence expire?
No. Your right to use the version you acquire is perpetual, within the terms of the contract. If you stop contracting updates, your platform keeps working.
Is there a per-user cost?
You won’t pay more for adding a few users. The licence is priced for an estimated volume and doesn’t change unless the final volume is much larger. If you know who you’re addressing, the cost is completely predictable.
Where is the data hosted?
Wherever you decide: your cloud, your server or a partner’s. The data never leaves your perimeter and the code is auditable by your own security team.
Is it really 40% cheaper?
In the comparable scenario shown, the three-year saving is around 40%. It is an indicative estimate that does not include implementation, support or infrastructure and varies case by case.
Do I need a large technical team?
No. Alumne Flex is a PHP platform with MySQL and Apache: it installs on any hosting, VPS or dedicated server, with no containers. Getting it running takes a standard systems-admin profile; to evolve it, your team with AI, a certified partner or Alumne’s own team.
